Teresa Adaszynska
Teresa began painting as an abstract contemporary artist in Europe and has continued her work in the United States throughout the West and Northwest. Her work spans various media and includes both fine art and abstract pieces. In addition to working with paint, she has also created pieces using mosaic, sculpture, wall murals, and faux finishes. The artist’s work focuses on her immense love of nature and echoes the light, color, and emotion of the natural world around her. Having lived throughout the western states for over 30 years Teresa has spent hundreds of hours outdoors hiking and painting. The beauty of the western landscape inspires her, especially the light that can transform the most ordinary places into the magical and extraordinary. For the past 7 years her work has focused on western landscapes and themes. She is a self-taught artist and has sought to increase her skills through mentorships, workshops and painting with fellow artists. Realizing the benefit of more formal education, she studied at the Art Students League of Denver and took over 3 years of formal classes in studio and plein air painting. In her work she seeks to share the joy experienced when out in nature and in that way, always includes something from the heart. The artist lives in Spokane, WA, where she gathers inspiration from the abundant beauty of the surrounding natural habitats. Teresa’s work has been showcased in galleries and various exhibitions in Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Washington. Currently she works in oils favoring studio and plein air painting. Her recent collections focus on the rich colors and textures found in landscapes of the surrounding western states, England and Poland. Teresa is a member of Oil Painters of America and a signature
member of the Western Art Association.
